There are shared housing and land management challenges in all UNECE member countries such as old, non-ecologically sustainable buildings, a lack of access to housing, and changes in property rights.
The Committee on Housing and Land Management facilitates a dialogue between governments for sharing innovative practice, giving advice and developing policy guidelines to address common housing and land management problems.
In the following years, the Committee on Housing and Land Management will implement the Strategy for Sustainable Housing and Land Management in the UNECE region for the period 2014 – 2020. The Committee relies on funding and expertise from its member States and donors for most of its activities. The programme of work 2014-2015 approved at the Committee’s 74th session includes many activities, such as the preparation of country profiles on housing and land management for Armenia, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russian Federation and training activities on affordable and energy-efficient housing in Armenia, Albania, Moldova, Serbia and Tajikistan.
We are inviting expressions of interest from member States, the private sector and non-governmental and international organizations to provide expert support for these activities. To provide expert support, please fill in the short questionnaire enclosed with this message and send it together with a CV of proposed expert(s) you recommend. If the proposed expert’s qualifications fit the requirements and a recipient country agrees to the proposed expert’s participation, we will send an invitation to the expert to participate in the project.
Please send the completed questionnaire and CV to Gulnara.Roll@unece.org, if possible by 20 January 2014.
