Gender Activities

UNECE gender activities include activities of the different UNECE Divisions as well as activities coordinated by the UNECE gender focal point directly. In line with its mandate, UNECE is thereby mainly concentrating on economic aspects of gender equality.

More specifically, UNECE is

• Providing a forum for regional reviews of the Beijing Platform for Action and exchange of good practices in mainstreaming gender into economic policies: examples include Beijing+5; Beijing +10; Beijing +15; Regional Symposium; Economics of Gender at the UNECE sixty-second Anniversary Session.
  
  
• Developing methodologies, collecting gender-disaggregated data, and training on gender statistics within the Gender Statistics programme.
  
  
• Mainstreaming gender into sub-regional economic cooperation through the Working Group on Gender and Economy within the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).
