Following Special Envoy's official visit to Mongolia in March 2017, the Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia requested Technical Assistance on four UN Road Safety Conventions related to Vehicles and Transport of Dangerous Goods.
In response to this request, the Special Envoy, in collaboration with United Nations Economic Commission for Europe organized a Workshop for national road safety stakeholders on UN Agreements on Vehicle Regulations and Transport of Dangerous Goods. The workshop was hosted by the Ministry of Road and Transport Development in Mongolia and took place in Ulaanbaatar on 28-30 June 2017.
The workshop brought together over 50 road safety officials to discuss UN Road Safety Conventions and their contribution to improving road safety; advantages, implications and challenges for Contracting parties; as well as accession process for Member States. The UNECE and Special Envoy will further support Mongolia in their road safety efforts and interest in accession to the UN RS Conventions.
