Le SPECA a été lancé en 1998 pour aplanir les difficultés rencontrées par les pays d’Asie centrale. Il vise en particulier à renforcer la coopération sous-régionale et à intégrer la région dans l’économie mondiale.

Le Groupe de travail du projet sur le transport et le passage des frontières est un organe subsidiaire du SPECA. Il se concentre sur la construction – ou l’extension – des réseaux routiers et ferroviaires de la région, ainsi que sur la mise en œuvre du Programme d’action résultant de la Déclaration d’Almaty des pays enclavés en transition et en développement. 

News and Events

The 19th session of SPECA Project Working Group on Transport and Border Crossing (PWG-TBC) was held on 18-19 June 2014 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was hosted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the lead SPECA country in the field of transport.

Representatives of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan participated in the session, which was also attended by representatives from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the Islamic Development Bank, the Eurasian Development Bank, IRU and members of the private sector.

The 18th session of SPECA Project Working Group on Transport and Border Crossing (PWG-TBC) was held on 2-3 May 2013 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was hosted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the lead SPECA country in the field of transport.
