A new publication: "Together with UNECE on the road to safety" is now available to mark the mid-term review of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety. It offers a comprehensive overview of specific activities and initiatives undertaken by UNECE Inland Transport Committee to address challenges faced by road safety community and covers in detail the work carried out under 11 ITC road safety goals.

The Republic of Moldova accedes to the Convention on Road Signs and Signals, of 8 November 1968 (map), the Protocol on Road Markings, additional to the European Agreement supplementing the Convention on Road Signs and Signals, 1973 (map) and the European Agreement supplementing the Convention on Road Signs and Signals, 1971 (map).

The Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in partnership with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of India and Institute of Road Traffic Education, and in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, organized an inaugural "Europe - Asia Road Safety Forum" on 4 December 2013 followed by a session of the Working Party on Road Traffic Safety (WP.1) on 5-6 December 2013 in New Delhi. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, acting in his capacity as depositary, has communicated that, on 21 April 2011, Kazakhstan acceded to the European Agreement supplementing the 1968 Convention on Road Traffic, of 1 May 1971. The Agreement will enter into force for Kazakhstan on 21 April 2012. For details, refer to Depositary Notification C.N.190.2011.TREATIES-1 on http://treaties.un.org

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, acting in his capacity as depositary, has communicated that, on 3 February 2011, Nigeria acceded to the 1949 Convention on Road Traffic.
