Serbian-Bulgarian border crossing - Green lanes for TIR trucks

20 December 2012
In line with the recommendations of the OSCE-UNECE Handbook of Best Practices at Border Crossings, TIR  Green Lines were established at the Serbian/Bulgarian border crossing point Gradina since 13 December 2012. Gradina is a major Serbian border crossing point on the CORRIDOR X and one of the main trade arteries from and to Serbia. TIR Green Lanes at Gradina allow simplified Customs processing of TIR vehicles and further facilitate transit and trade. They also allow more efficient use of Customs resources, enhancing the focus on “high-risk” movements of goods and ensuring predictable and efficient Customs clearance. TIR Green Lanes at Gradina demonstrate the benefit of improved cooperation between TIR transport operators and Customs authorities.
