Environment for Europe


The “Environment for Europe” process is a unique partnership of member States within the UNECE region, organizations of the United Nations system represented in the region, other intergovernmental organizations, regional environmental centres, non-governmental organizations, the private sector and other major groups. The process and its Ministerial Conferences provide a high-level platform for stakeholders to discuss, decide and join efforts in addressing environmental priorities across the 56 countries of the UNECE region, and is a regional pillar of sustainable development. In focus

The main outcomes of the last Ministerial Conference include: the Batumi Ministerial Declaration (En / Fr / Ru); the Pan-European Strategic Framework on Greening the Economy (En / Fr / Ru) and its Batumi Initiative on Green Economy (BIG-E); the Batumi Action on Cleaner Air (BACA); the Batumi Ministerial Statement on Education for Sustainable Development (En / Fr / Ru) and the Framework for the future implementation of the UNECE Strategy for Education for Sustainable Development (En / Fr / Ru).
