UNECE’s work on sustainable energy is designed to improve access to affordable and clean energy for all and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon footprint of the energy sector in the region. It promotes international policy dialogue and cooperation among governments, energy industries and other stakeholders. The focus is on energy efficiency, cleaner electricity production from fossil fuels, renewable energy, coal mine methane, natural gas, classification of energy and mineral reserves and resources, and energy security. Eighth Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development
11-14 June 2017, Astana, Geneva
Preparations are ongoing for the Eighth Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development. The Forum will be organized together with an Energy Ministerial in Astana, Kazakhstan, from 11-14 June 2017. The events will be held under the auspices of the Future Energy EXPO to be held from 10 June to 10 September. Registrations will be done on the Kazakhstan website only: http://www.expo2017astana.com. Survey on overcoming barriers to investing in energy efficiency
We invite you to participate in the Survey on overcoming barriers to investing in energy efficiency. The survey is part of a joint study by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency that aims to examine and recommend measures that support increased investment in energy efficiency. Deadline extended to 7 February 2017. Survey is closed. Responses are being analyzed. We will inform you of the results of the survey when the analysis is complete.
