To celebrate the International Year of Forests 2011, the UNECE/FAO Forestry and Timber Section, in partnership with the U.S. Permanent Mission to UNOG and the UNOG Cultural Programme, organized an exhibition about forests, forest illustrations and forest products from North America and Europe. ‘The Art of Trees’ is open until 25 February.
Almost 100 living trees were displayed in the Hall des Pas Perdus, together with illustrations from American Artist Monte Dolack and other forest and wood products.
This forest gallery was an occasion to reflect the growing appreciation of the contribution of forests to economic, environmental and social wellbeing.
