Although every effort has been made by the secretariat and national correspondents to check the accuracy and consistency of the presented information, due to the huge mass of data involved in the TBFRA-2000 publication, a few annoying errors have crept into the report. 

The following corrections should therefore be taken into account when reading Chapter IV: 
 

• Main Table 65, column 5, “Extension of forests, annual average”

Replace the figure for the United States of America, 1868 (1000 ha) by the figure 388 (1000 ha)
 

• Main Table 67, columns 2, 4 and 6 

Replace the figures for the United States of America, correspondingly: 

• 1140 (1000 ha) by the figure 186 (1000 ha); 
• 323 (1000 ha) by the figure 64 (1000 ha); and 
• 405 (1000 ha) by the figure 138 (1000 ha). 

• Figure 4.18 in the text of Chapter IV

The figure should be altered in accordance with the above revisions
