The seventeenth session of the Working Party took place from 5 to 7 November 2007. It included the following events: The Session’s main achievements were:
  • the approval of Recommendation “M” on “Use of Market Surveillance Infrastructure as a Complementary Means to Protect Consumers and Users against Counterfeit Goods” with a recommendation to UNECE member States, as well as all other States, where legal and institutional framework permit, to encourage their national market surveillance bodies to use the approaches proposed in Recommendation M.

  • establishment of a Sectoral Initiative on Equipment with Explosive Environments to work on the basis of Recommendation L towards common regulatory objectives in this sector based on Recommendation L.
