The 38th  session of WP.1 will continue its consideration of proposed amendments to the Vienna Conventions and European Agreements on road traffic and on road signs and signals as well as the revision of the consolidated resolutions on road traffic (R.E.1) and on road signs and signals (R.E.2). Within this framework, WP.1 will examine in particular issues related to mobile phone use, definitions of mopeds and motorcycles, behaviour at pedestrian crossings, driving permits, and the incorporation of the distinguishing sign into the registration plate. It also has to identify recommendations of the Ad hoc Group of Experts on Safety in Tunnels to be included in the above-mentioned legal instruments.

Task Force on Measurements and Modelling

The Task Force reviews the work on atmospheric measurements and modelling within the framework of the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution.  In a joint session with the European Environment Agency, it will prepare for a harmonized scheme for reporting of national monitoring data, with a special focus on fine particles.  The Task Force will discuss the work on a 20-year assessment report and new modelling tools. BSEC Workshop on the Role of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Support of SMEs
