Goals
The two key and overriding objectives of the
CAPACT project are:
The CAPACT project seeks to achieve these two main
objectives through a series of interim phases which are
encaptured
in a graphic presentation (click

As encaptured by the key objectives, the CAPACT
project encourages the implementation of the UNECE Convention on Long-Range
Transboundary Air Pollution (click
here for more) and its protocols as well as to promote
the application of appropriate clean coal combustion technologies
(CCTs) for heat and power generation from solid fuels.
Implementation of the Convention and its Protocols
will be achieved through work on:
-
developing policies to manage air quality,
-
air pollution monitoring, and
-
reporting of pollutant emissions.
To further facilitate this process the project aims to develop sub-regional cooperation as well as, in cooperation
with UNEP, to strengthen links between Asian and European
monitoring programmes.
