The Seminar on flood prevention, protection and mitigation took place in Berlin, Germany on 21 and 22 June 2004, at the invitation of the Government of Germany.
The UNECE Regional Implementation Forum was held in Geneva on 15-16 January 2004, in order to provide substantial inputs to the 12th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (14-30 April 2004), which focused on identifying obstacles and constraints in the areas of water, sanitation and human settlements.
The document "Water and Sanitation in the UNECE Region: Achievements in Regulatory Aspects, Institutional Arrangements and Monitoring since Rio, Trends and Challenges", was prepared for the UNECE Regional Implementation Forum (ECE/AC.25/2004/5, ECE/AC.25/2004/5/Add.1, ECE/AC.25/2004/5/Add.2 and ECE/AC.25/2004/5/Add.2.Corr).
