Among other things, the Committee discussed the subject matter of communications ACCC/C/2008/32 (EC) and ACCC/C/2008/33 (UK). The Committee began to prepare draft findings with respect to communication ACCC/C/2008/23 (United Kingdom) and ACCC/C/2008/27 (United Kingdom) and continued its deliberations on the draft findings on communication ACCC/C/2008/24 (Spain). It finalized its findings with regard to communication ACCC/C/2008/26 (Austria), ACCC/C/2008/29 (Poland) and ACCC/C/2008/30 (Moldova). With regard to communication ACCC/C/2008/28 (Denmark), it decided to postpone any further deliberation of the case until the Danish Ombudsman had carried out its review of the matter. It also considered admissibility of new communications received. The Committee also reviewed the situation with the follow-up on the relevant decisions on compliance and on reporting adopted at the 3rd meeting of the Parties (Decisions III/6a to f).

Among other things, the Committee discussed the subject matter of communications ACCC/C/2008/23 (UK), ACCC/C/2008/27 (UK), ACCC/C/2008/29 (Poland) and ACCC/C/2008/30 (Moldova). It finalized its findings with regard to communication ACCC/C/2007/22 (France). It began to prepare draft findings on communications ACCC/C/2008/24 (Spain) and ACCC/C/2008/26 (Austria). It also considered admissibility of new communications received. The Committee also reviewed the situation with the follow-up on the relevant decisions on compliance and on reporting adopted at the 3rd meeting of the Parties (Decisions III/6a to f).

Twenty-third meeting

Among other things, the Committee reviewed the situation with the follow-up on the relevant decisions on compliance and on reporting adopted at the 3rd meeting of the Parties. In particular, the Committee found that the caution imposed on Turkmenistan by the Meeting of the Parties through decision III/6e of the Meeting of the Parties should become effective on 1 May 2009. It also found that, although the caution imposed on Ukraine by the Meeting of the Parties through decision III/6f should not become effective, Ukraine was not yet fully in compliance with its obligations under the Convention. The Committee also discussed the subject matter of communications ACCC/C/2008/24 (Spain) and ACCC/C/2008/26 (Austria). It discussed certain matters arising in connection with communication ACCC/C/2005/15 (Romania) and finalized and adopted the findings on communication ACCC/C/2007/21 (European Community). It continued its deliberations on the subject matter of communication ACCC/C/2007/22 (France). It considered new information received in connection with communications ACCC/C/2008/23 (United Kingdom), ACCC/C/2008/27 (United Kingdom) and ACCC/C/2008/28 (Denmark). It also considered admissibility of four new communications received since its 22nd meeting.

Among other things, the Committee discussed the subject matter of communication ACCC/C/2007/22 (France), continued its deliberations on the subject matter of communication ACCC/C/2007/21 (EC), considered new information received in connection with communications ACCC/C/2008/23 (UK) and ACCC/C/2008/28 (Denmark) and considered admissibility of five new communications received since its 21st meeting. The Committee also reviewed the situation with the follow-up on the relevant decisions on compliance and on reporting adopted at the 3rd meeting of the Parties.

Among other things, the Committee held a discussion on communications ACCC/C/2007/21 (EC), reviewed new information received in connection with communications ACCC/C/2007/22 (France), ACCC/C/2008/23 (UK) and ACCC/C/2008/24 (Spain), and considered 3 new communications (ACCC/C/2008/26 (Austria), ACCC/C/2008/27 (UK) and ACCC/C/2008/28 (Denmark)).

Among other things, the Committee discussed presentation of its report to the 3rd meeting of the Parties later that week, including updates on compliance by individual Parties. It discussed the outcome of the reporting by Parties on implementation. It also discussed in an open session preliminary admissibility of communication ACCC/C/2008/24 (Spain) and ACCC/C/2008/25 (Albania).

Nineteenth meeting

5-7 March 2008, Geneva (Switzerland)

The Committee discussed its draft findings with regard to communications ACCC/C/2005/15 (Romania), ACCC/C/2006/16 (Lithuania), ACCC/C/2006/17 (EC) and ACCC/C/2006/18 (Denmark), inter alia, on the basis of any comments received from the parties concerned, as well as preliminary admissibility of two new communications received. The Committee also discussed its report to the Meeting of the Parties, including reporting on compliance by individual Parties, implementation of decision of the 2nd meeting of the Parties on compliance and compliance with the reporting requirements.

Eighteenth meeting

28-30 November 2007, Geneva (Switzerland)

Among other things, the Committee entered into discussions on communication ACCC/C/2007/18 (Denmark), in the presence of the communicant and the Party concerned. The Committee also deliberated on communications ACCC/C/2005/15 (Romania), ACCC/C/2006/16 (Lithuania), ACCC/C/2005/17 (EC), ACCC/C/2007/19 (UK), ACCC/C/2007/20 (Kazakhstan), and ACCC/C/2007/21 (EC). It also discussed progress made with regard to the implementation of several recommendations of the Committee and decisions of the Meeting of the Parties.

Seventeenth meeting

26-28 September 2007, Geneva (Switzerland)

The Committee, among other things, held a discussion on the substance of communication ACCC/C/2007/17 (EC) and considered relevant developments with regard to communications ACCC/C/2005/15 (Romania), ACCC/C/2007/18 (Denmark), ACCC/C/2007/19 (United Kingdom), and ACCC/C/2007/20 (Kazakhstan). It also discussed how it would address its findings and, where appropriate, recommendations, with regard to compliance by individual Parties in its report to the third meeting of the Parties.

Among other things, the Committee finalized and adopted its findings and recommendations with regard to communication ACCC/C/2005/12 (Albania). It also discussed communication ACCC/C/2006/16 (Lithuania). The Party concerned and the communicant participated in the open part of the discussion.

Fifteenth meeting

The Committee, among other things, discussed its draft findings and recommendations with regard to communication ACCC/C/2005/12 (Albania) and agreed to forward the draft for comments to the parties concerned as well as to the relevant international financial institutions. It also discussed additional information received from the communicant in communication ACCC/C/2005/15 (Romania) and agreed on a number of points to be raised with the Party concerned.
