The Task Force on Hemispheric Transport of Air Pollution was established by the Executive Body at its twenty-second session in December 2004. The Task Force will develop a fuller understanding of the hemispheric transport of air pollution for consideration in the reviews of protocols to the Convention. It will also estimate the hemispheric transport of specific air pollutants for the use in reviews of protocols to the Convention. It will prepare technical reviews for such pollutants and submit them to the Steering Body of EMEP. The Task Force is led by the United States and the European Community.
The Task Force is composed of experts from Parties to the Convention. Individuals with relevant expertise and experts from non-Convention countries in the northern hemisphere may also be invited to participate in the work of the Task Force.
