The Network of Experts on Benefits and Economic Issues
(NEBEI) was formed in 2000 with the aim to develop
further the economic work carried out by the former
Task Force on Economic Aspects of Abatement Strategies
and to enable economic considerations to be taken
into account in the development and review of Protocols
to the Convention. NEBEI meets only on the occasion
of planned workshops and includes not only economists
but also representatives from other specialist groups.
It is currently led by the United Kingdom and Norway.
The last workshop was held on 6-7 April 2006 in Catania, Italy,
on the economic impacts of air pollution on cultural heritage,
jointly with the Working Group on Effects' ICP Materials.
