UNUnited Nations Economic Commission for Europe

ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

Since 1948 the Economic Survey of Europe provides regular, comprehensive analyses of economic developments and prospects in the entire ECE region. Following the radical changes in political regimes in the formerly centrally planned economies of the ECE region, the Survey has since 1990 placed particular emphasis on developments in the countries in transition of eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union and the western response in terms of aid, trade and private investment. Starting in 1998 issues of the Survey have incorporated the Economic Bulletin for Europe.

Issue No. 2/3 of the 2000 Survey is available below in electronic formats and additional formats is available upon request.  The printed version is also available as a United Nations publication (Sales No. E.00.II.E.28). This issue contains an update of recent economic developments in the ECE region. In addition, papers presented to the UN/ECE Spring Seminar in May 2000: From Plan to Market: The Transition Process After 10 Years, are contained in this issue.
