Following the 2005 UNECE Reform initiated by member States, the Economic Analysis Division (EAD) was dissolved. A number of its activities were discontinued and others were transferred to other divisions.

The Economic Analysis Division carried out regular, comprehensive analyses of economic developments and prospects of the ECE region. The economic analysis was complemented by population analysis carried out by the Population Activities Unit of EAD. These two strands of work contributed towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals in the ECE region.

The results of EAD’s prior work are still available to the general public through a range of publications.
