1st August: The 2003-2 UN/LOCODE directory now available. The latest version of the UN/LOCODE directories is now available for download from the UNECE Web Server.

24 June: UN/CEFACT Forum Coordination Team is organizing the next Forum meeting in September. More information and registration form are available from http://www.kiec.or.kr/uncefact/index.asp.

23 June: UN/CEFACT's Information Content Management Group (ICG) announces the release of the first revision to the code list for UN Recommendation No. 23 (Freight Cost Code - FCC). This revision includes a number of new freight charge codes.

December 20 UNECE Secretariat has issued the UN/LOCODE 2003.1 code list . It contains  additional entries in comparison with previous issue. The Secretariat Notes are available.

29 UNECE Secretariat has issued the UN/LOCODE 2002.2 code list It contains 1000 additional entries in comparison with previous issue. You can read more in the Secretariat Note accompanying the issue.
17 Country and currency code list in XML format now available on the Internet. The use of encoded trade data based on recognized international code sets simplifies trade procedures and reduces risks. The United Nations recommends the use of ISO 3166 two digit country codes to represent the names of countries and ISO 4217 three digit codes for currencies ( UN CEFACT Recommendation N° 3 and 9). In the framework of the UNeDocs projectthe UNECE provides now this code list in XML format on the Internet. This is an important practical step for the integration of international code sets for trade data into XML trade documents. The code lists are available at www.UNeDocs.org.

13-14 The UNTDED Maintenance Agency will meet in Geneva. United Nations Trade Data Element Directory (UNTDED - ISO 7372) is the basic semantic repository for aligned trade documents and EDI. The UNTDED is now available in electronic format for download from the UNECE Web server. ISO TC 154 Technical Committee resolved to initiate an upward compatible revision of the UNTDED - ISO 7372.
