The United Nations General Assembly declared 2016 the International Year of Pulses, a crop which has been part of the human diet for millennia. On this occasion, UNECE, FAO (as coordinator of the International Year of Pulses) and the Permanent Missions of Turkey, Pakistan, Namibia and others will host a culinary exhibition to showcase the large variety of pulses available, a multitude of culinary options, their nutritional, environmental benefits and the role of pulses for sustainable development and food security.

The culinary exhibition will be held on 19 April 2016, 13.15-15.00 in Bar de l'Escargot, E-Building, 3rd floor, Palais des Nations, Geneva.
