Third Meeting of the Expert Group on Equitable Access to Water and Sanitation
11 - 12 May 2015
Paris, France
An analytic tool, the Equitable Access Score-card was developed under the Protocol on Water and Health to support Governments and other stakeholders to establish a baseline measure of the equity of access to water and sanitation, discuss further actions to be taken and evaluate progress in ensuring equitable access to water and sanitation through a process of self-assessment. It has already been used by several countries (at the national and regional level) and new countries are currently planning to apply it.
This expert group meeting made it possible to:
- exchange experiences in carrying out self-assessments of the equity of access to water and sanitation using the Equitable Access Score-card at different scales;
- inform the development of priority action plans to address inequities in access to water and sanitation, building on partners initiatives.
