Workplan Activity

Jeroy gold and copper mine in the Talas River basin (Kyrgyzstan)
The project was funded with support from the Government of Norway and was managed by the OSCE and UNECE in cooperation with the State Agency on Environmental Protection and Forestry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
A public hearing with more than 100 participants was held 20 March 2007. The cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan was working well.
In addition to the implementation of the pilot EIA, the two countries also had an opportunity to revise their EIA procedures within the project. A regional conference, 25-27 March 2009, finalized the project: Subregional workshop, presenting results of Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan pilot project,
