Actions:

1) Establishment of the new Ramsar Site Kuyumazar reservoir in the territory of Uzbekistan

Within the framework of the Small Grand Fund of the Ramsar Convention, Uzbekistan is implementing a project to define the ecological characteristics of the Kuyumazar reservoir in the Ramsar Sheet and to determine the main threats to the area.  The goal of this action is to enable the preparation and submission of a Ramsar Information Sheet and site map to the Ramsar Secretariat by November 2011 so that the Kuyumazar reservoir might be included among the list of Wetlands of International Importance.

2) Establishment of the new Ramsar Site Tudakul reservoir in the territory of Uzbekistan

Within the framework of the Small Grand Fund of the Ramsar Convention, Uzbekistan's second action is a project for the inclusion of the Kuyumazar reservoir in the Ramsar Sheet of Wetlands of International Importance. This project will include analytical field work in the Kuyumazar reservoir to define ecological characteristics, determine the main threats, and gather data for the preparation of the Ramsar Information Sheet. This goal aims for a submission of the Ramsar Information Sheet and site map to the Ramsar Secretariat by November 2011.
