Sub-Regional Workshop on land-use planning and industrial safety for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus‎

The workshop was held in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova from 8.30am on Wednesday 22nd May until 1pm on 24th May.

The workshop was jointly organized by the UNECE Industrial Accidents Convention and the UNECE Committee on Urban Development,Housing and Land Management, with contributions by the government of Flanders (Belgium)and the Republic of Moldova. It brought together experts in land-use planning, industrial safety, environmental assessment and related fields from countries of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus (including representatives of authorities, industry, NGOs and academia) to share experiences and good practices on the topic of : coordination of land-use planning and industrial safety procedures and cooperation between the relevant experts for industrial accident prevention, including in a transboundary context.

A video on The benefits of enhanced cooperation between land-use planning and industrial safety, produced by UNECE and Zoi Environment Network, was launched in Russian at the workshop, and is also available in English.
