Third session of Meeting of the Parties to the Aahrus Convention

 

The third meeting of the Parties to the Aarhus Convention will be take place in Riga, Latvia, on 11-13 June 2008.

The third meeting is expected to review the achievements over the first ten years and to
adopt a long-term strategic plan for the Convention.

It will also provide an opportunity to review the progress achieved in the Convention’s
implementation and efforts to build capacity in among its Parties and Signatory States.

The high-level segment of the meeting is expected to take place on Friday, 13 June 2007,
and culminate in the adoption of the Riga Declaration.

All official documents will be made accessible through this website. They will include official documents and decisions adopted by the Meeting, documents prepared in advance for the meeting and relevant intersessional documents.

Two press releases (10 June 2008, 13 June 2008) covering the Meeting and a summary of key outcomes, as well as an unedited advance copy of the Riga Declaration as adopted by the Meeting have been made available.
