AARHUS CONVENTION

Convention on Access to Information,
Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice
in Environmental Matters

The third meeting of the Parties to the Aarhus Convention will take place in Riga, Latvia,
on 11-13 June 2008.

The third meeting is expected to review the achievements over the first ten years and to
adopt a long-term strategic plan for the Convention.

It will also provide an opportunity to review the progress achieved in the Convention’s
implementation and efforts to build capacity among its Parties and Signatory States.

The high-level segment of the meeting will take place on Friday, 13 June 2008, and is
expected to culminate in the adoption of the Riga Declaration.

The annotated provisional agenda of the meeting will be available in
English, French
and
Russian.

All official documents will be made accessible through this website. They will include official
documents and decisions adopted by the Meeting, documents prepared in advance
for the meeting and relevant intersessional documents.

Delegates and observers are invited to register on-line at the host country website.
