Summary: On 13 March 2006, Association Kazokiskes Community submitted a communication to the Compliance Committee alleging non-compliance by the Republic of Lithuania with its obligations under articles 6 and 9 (2) of the Convention. The communicant alleged that the Lithuanian authorities failed to comply with provisions of article 6 of the Convention with respect to decision-making on the establishment of a landfill in the village of Kazokiskes in the municipality of Elektrenai Vilnius. The communicant further alleged that it had no opportunity to challenge the decision on the establishment of the landfill.
