The Expert Group on Particulate Matter was established by the Executive Body at its twenty-second session in December 2004. The Expert Group will assess the degree of control of pollutants contributing to the formation of particulate matter, review current work on particulate matter under the Convention, and consider the scientific and technical requirements for developing further measures to reduce particulate matter.
The Expert Group is led by Germany and the United Kingdom. It includes experts nominated by Parties. Other subsidiary bodies and programme centres under the Convention that are working on particulate matter participate actively in the work of the Expert Group.
