The Bureau of the Executive Body
The Bureau consists of the Chair of the Executive
Body and seven Vice-Chairs, who include the Chairs
of the four main subsidiary bodies of the Executive
Body. The Bureau is elected annually by the Executive
Body and acts as an inter-sessional forum for strategic
action and operational coordination. The Bureau
prepares policy-oriented proposals for submission
to the Executive Body and promotes interdisciplinary
cooperation and integration. It may decide upon
urgent matters based on input from the Bureaux of
the subsidiary bodies but such decisions should
be considered and confirmed, as appropriate, by
the Executive Body itself.
Since November 2000 the Bureau has made the notes
of its meetings available on this web site.
