Housing and Urban Management Advisory Network
The Housing and Urban Management Advisory
Network (HUMAN) was established by the UNECE Committee
on Housing and Land Management in September 1997. It is an advisory
network consisting of experts from the private sector,
non-governmental organizations, professional associations,
research institutions and local authorities.
Its objective is to work with the Committee on Housing and Land Management and its Bureau, to advise on strategies
and projects, to act as a link to the institutions,
organizations and the business community and also
to assist in program implementation.
The Network's progress of work is
presented and evaluated at each Annual Session of
the Committee on Housing and Land Management.
The Committee recognizes that the
Network provides valuable contributions to the operational
activities and support to the program of work, strengthens
the cooperation with the local authorities and NGOs
and facilitates the practical cooperation with the
business community.
The activities of the Housing and
Urban Management Advisory Network are in line with
the UNECE recommendations and the provisions of
the Habitat Agenda on involving the business community,
NGOs, local authorities in human settlements policy
formulation and implementation.
For the membership and projects of the Advisory
Network, please see the report of the latest session
of the Committee.
