The Implementation Committee's objective is to review compliance by the Parties with their obligations under the Convention with a view to assisting them fully to meet their commitments.

The Committee was established by the Meeting of the Parties in February 2001 (decision II/4 of the second Meeting of the Parties, revised as decision III/2).

The next (fifteenth) meeting of the Committee will be held in Geneva, autumn 2008. The informal provisional agenda of the meeting will be available here.
