3rd Session of the Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency

18 - 19 October 2016

Baku, Azerbaijan

The third session of the Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency will be held in the framework of the Seventh International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development. It will focus its discussions on activities included in its Work Plan for 2016–2017. Among the discussion items will be best practices in selected economic sectors to improve energy efficiency; high impact policies and measures; exchange of know-how and best practices in industry to significantly improve energy efficiency; principles-based energy performance standard in buildings; role of utilities and energy service companies in improving energy efficiency; and regulatory and policy dialogue addressing barriers to improve energy efficiency.

The session will include two workshops. Workshop on promoting energy efficiency in Azerbaijan and other countries of the region is organized jointly with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). Workshop “Global Energy Efficiency Accelerator Platform and Progress in Accelerating Industrial Energy Efficiency. Business and policy value through Energy Management Systems in industry” is organized jointly with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2).
