The content of this CD-Rom show that it is possible to identify, develop and finance energy efficiency and renewable energy investments projects that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Eastern Europe and the CIS. This material is intended to reduce some of the uncertainties of investment in this area and promote additional investments in energy efficiency and climate change mitigation in transition economies.
The CD-Rom is structured into three parts. The first part presents the discussion held during a EE21 Seminar on financing Energy Investments,. In the second part some US£ 60 million of EE21 Energy Efficiency investment project business plans are presented. The last component of this publication is focused on the proceedings and presentations made during the special session on the implementation of the Kyoto protocol which took place during the joint session of the committee on Sustainable Energy and the Steering Committee of the EE21 Project in 2005.
This CD-Rom was developed as one of several outputs of the project “Energy Efficiency Investment Project Development for Climate Change Mitigation” which is part of Energy Efficiency 21 (EE21) programme implemented by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
