The Consortium Board has formed expert working groups to carry out the scientific and methodological work in the Programme.

• The Questionnaire Development Group 1 (QDG1) was formed in autumn 2001 to develop the questionnaire for the first wave of the Generations and Gender Survey.
• The Contextual Database Group (CDBG) was created in spring 2002 to develop the conceptual framework and prototype for the GGP Contextual Database.
• The Analysis Group (AG) was created in early 2003 to develop a programme of analysis at national and international levels.
• The Study Design and Sampling Group (SDSG) was created in early 2003 to develop recommendations for panel study design, sampling and sample maintenance.
• The Administrative Records Group (ARG) was created to develop proposals for use of population register and administrative records data in conjunction with GGS surveys in selected countries.
• The Questionnaire Development Group 2 (QDG2) was created in summer 2003 to develop the questionnaire second wave of the Generations and Gender Survey.
