FITPRO was set up in the 1970s based on the Recommendation No.4 of the Working
Party on Facilitation of International Trade Procedures of the UN Economic Commision
for Europe (ECE). FITPRO is managed by a multidisciplinary management team of

Secretariat of FITPRO is staffed by three full timers.
The main fields of the FITPRO activities are :
maintaining
contacts with international bodies, taking part in
its meetings, distributing its published documents
promoting
trade facilitation and EDI, i.e. all information
related with trade facilitation (documents,
procedures, legal aspects etc.) and EDI technology
on the base of UN/EDIFACT to ensure that the
development of EDI in Czech Republic is coherent
and coordinated with current approach on the
international level
publishing
of news and documentation, organization of
workshops, seminars, conferences, education
visits and study trips etc. which are stuck
to the point EDI and UN/EDIFACT
cooperating
on an implementation of ISO/CEN Standards for
EDI on Czech national conditions with Czech
Standards Institute developing drafts of those
Standards
cooperation
with several key government bodies. Mainly
with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of
the Czech Republic
The main programme aim of FITPRO is to open all trade
facilitation, EDI and EDIFACT information to all EDI
users and the interested public. Therefore FITPRO is
also organising and coordinating activities of some
parties interested in EDI - EDI Service Club and Club
of UN/EDIFACT Users.
EDIFACT Users
Club consists of companies currently preparing
for EDI implementation. Its purpose is to provide
and distribute new UN/EDIFACT information, to
organize discussions of results achieved and
problems which arise, and, with the help of experts,
to propose solutions to these problems and advise
on further.
Members of the
EDI Service Club are service organizations which
are offering or preparing EDI services based
on UN/EDIFACT standard.
SECTORIAL Groups
(telecommunication, banking, transport, automotive
industry) consist of companies which have the
intention or are preparing common solutions for
EDI in mentioned sectors.
