UN/EDIFACT (the United Nations rules for Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce and Transport) comprise a set of internationally agreed standards, directories, and guidelines for the electronic interchange of structured data, between independent computerized information systems.
Recommended within the framework of the United Nations, the rules are approved and published by UNECE in the UNTDID (United Nations Trade Data Interchange Directory) and are maintained under agreed procedures.

8 November 2013: In addition to mentioned errors in UN/EDIFACT directory version D.13A another error (missing code DPL in data element 8053) was found and is now corrected. Updated directory is available on the UN/EDIFACT website.
24 October 2013: The mentioned errors in the August 27 announcement have been corrected and the UN/EDIFACT directory version D.13A is now available on the UN/EDIFACT website.
27 August 2013: The UN/EDIFACT directory version D.13A has been approved and is now available on the UN/EDIFACT website.
NB! Due to issues in the development of UN/EDIFACT directory D.13A, users are strongly advised to refrain from implementing the BAPLIE and GOVCBR message from D.13A.
We are in the process of correcting the errors, and will publish a corrected version as soon as possible.
26 November 2012: The UN/EDIFACT directory version D.12B has been approved and is now available on the UN/EDIFACT website.
Note: Due to incorrect updating of a temporarily assigned data element tag (6701 for 'Diameter measure') this published tag number is incorrect and should not be used. The tag number will be updated in the next directory (D13.A). Any comments on the above should be sent to Peter Amstutz, Bureau Vice Chair.
