The Committee on Economic Cooperation and Integration held its first session on 27 and 28 September 2006. At the Session, the Committee elected:

Mr. Matti Pietarinen, Deputy Director General, Head of Industrial Policy Unit, Industries Department, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Finland, as Chairperson,

Mr. David Salazar, First Secretary, Permanent Mission of the United States of America to the United Nations Office at Geneva, as Vice-Chairperson,

and

Mr. Andrei Savinykh, Deputy Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Belarus to the United Nations Office at Geneva, as Vice-Chairperson.
