Twentieth meeting of the Compliance Committee under the Protocol on Water and Health

The twentieth committee of the Compliance Committee under the Protocol on Water and Health will be held on 2 November 2020 in room XXVII, Palais des Nations, Geneva.

The Committee will review compliance with the obligation to set targets under the Protocol and discuss how it can facilitate compliance with other provisions of the Protocol. It will also tackle the issues of possible consultations with Parties and awareness-raising on the compliance procedure.

COVID-19 measures for meetings at the Palais des Nations

Since June, the Swiss federal authorities have progressively lifted the COVID-19 related restrictions on public and private gatherings, which has enabled physical meetings to gradually resume at the Palais des Nations with comprehensive safety measures in place.

In line with the current Swiss measures, UN Geneva allows up to 1000 external meeting participants on premises at a time, while the number of participants in each meeting cannot exceed 300 persons.

  • The COVID-19 temporary occupancy limits of each conference room must be respected, and seating has been blocked off to ensure adequate physical distancing between meeting participants.
  • All meeting participants (even those who hold UNOG ground entry passes) must register to events via Indico.UN, including providing a contact phone number.
  • Any person who has flu- or cold-like symptoms or is awaiting a COVID-19 PCR test result must not come to the UN premises.
  • All persons physically present inside and around conference rooms must wear a face covering mask. Masks are also required in catering and retail outlets on the premises, and are strongly encouraged in other communal areas.
  •  Important hygiene measures such as regular hand washing, cough/sneeze etiquette and keeping safe distances must be respected.
