Environmental Monitoring and Assessment

About Environmental Monitoring and Assesment

Informed-decision making requires the availability of integrated, relevant, timely and easy accessible information and its appropriate assessment. This in turn requires that adequate monitoring programmes, data and information management systems, assessment and reporting routines and methods are in place. The Programme on Environmental Monitoring and Assessment assists, therefore, UNECE member States in working with environmental data and information to enable their timely flows to serve as a basis for informed decision-making process both nationally as well as internationally in the environmental sector.
