Methane Management


Managing methane is both a challenge and an opportunity for delivering on the Paris Agreement and attaining the Sustainable Development Goals. Currently, available information regarding methane emissions from extractive industries is sporadic and often based on estimates. There is neither a common technological approach to monitoring and recording methane emissions, nor a standard method for reporting them. Determined to change this situation, UNECE partnered up with various prominent institutions and experts operating in the relevant industries to undertake the work on identifying and consolidating best practices in these fields. Read more
