In compliance with the decisions of the 59th UNECE Annual Session and of the Ad Hoc Informal Meeting of the Commission (28 May 2004), the UNECE Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 10-year review of Implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action (Beijing +10), was held on 14-15 December 2004, Room XIX, Palais des Nations, Geneva.
The meeting was a region wide event which draw on the past experiences of the UNECE Regional Preparatory Meetings for Beijing (Vienna, November 1994) and Beijing +5 (Geneva, January 2000).
Main themes: i) Women in the economy; ii) institutional mechanisms to promote gender equality; iii) trafficking of women in the context of migratory movements; iv) emerging issues.
The outcome of the UNECE meeting was presented by Ms. B. Schmognerova, UNECE Executive Secretary at the High Level panel on 4 March 2005 (PM) during the 49th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women in New York (28 February - 11 March 2005)
